12th Academic Council Meeting PGMI / Ameer-ud-Din Medical College / Lahore General Hospital The 12th Academic Council Meeting of the (PGMI/AMC/LGH) was held today 8th January 2026 at Lahore General Hospital under the chairmanship of Prof. Dr. Muhammad Farooq Afzal, Principal, PGMI / Ameer-ud-Din Medical College / Lahore General Hospital. During the meeting, the Academic Council deliberated upon a range of important academic, administrative, and institutional matters. Arrangements for the 6th Convocation of Ameer-ud-Din Medical College, including matters related to convocation medals and participation of postgraduate students, were discussed in detail. General issues concerning student-related fees and institutional charges were reviewed in accordance with existing policies and regulatory requirements. The Council also discussed agenda items related to issuance of AMC souvenirs, management and preparedness regarding Monkeypox, disciplinary matters, and recognition and compliance-related issues. A key highlight of the meeting was the formal acknowledgment and appreciation of the successful achievement of institutional licensing through the Punjab Healthcare Commission (PHC). The Academic Council appreciated the collective efforts of the MSDS team in attaining this milestone. Special recognition was accorded to Dr. Prof. Jodhat Saleem, Head of Department of Anesthesia, for his professional leadership, and Dr. Javed mumtaz, AMS, for his effective administrative supervision and coordination of the MSDS team. The meeting concluded with a reaffirmation of the institution’s commitment to academic excellence, quality assurance, regulatory compliance, patient safety, and continuous improvement in medical education and healthcare service delivery.
