The Department of Nephrology, Lahore General Hospital, conducted a comprehensive Workshop on “Point of Care Ultrasound (POCUS) in Nephrology” on 24 November 2025 at the Gastro Auditorium and Dialysis Centre. The event was organized by Professor Dr. Abad ur Rehman, Head of the Department of Nephrology, LGH, who led the academic planning and execution of the workshop. Under the patronage of Principal Professor Dr. Mohammad Farooq Afzal, the event reflected the institution’s commitment to promoting advanced clinical training. The session was also graced by the Medical Superintendent, Professor Dr. Feryad Hussain, whose support and coordination contributed significantly to the success of the workshop. The program included in-depth lectures, expert demonstrations, and hands-on training focused on bedside ultrasound applications in nephrology, including renal imaging, vascular access evaluation, and assessment of fluid status. Speaking on the occasion, the Principal, Professor Dr. Mohammad Farooq Afzal, appreciated the initiative and remarked: “POCUS-based training is essential for strengthening diagnostic accuracy and improving patient outcomes. I commend the Nephrology Department for its dedication to fostering practical, skill-based learning for our young clinicians.” The workshop concluded with active participation from trainees and appreciation for the faculty, reaffirming LGH’s commitment to high-quality medical education and patient-centered clinical excellence.
