Workshop on Acute Pain Management in Low-Income Countries & Enhanced Recovery After Surgery (ERAS) The Department of Anesthesia successfully conducted a hands-on workshop on Regional Anesthesia in the Orthopedic Operation Theatre, led by the renowned foreign faculty Dr. Xavier Falieres, Consultant Anaesthetist from the Netherlands, President of the European Society of Day Case Anaesthesia, Board Member of the International Association of Day Case Anaesthesia, and Trainer for ERAS in the Netherlands. The interactive session provided valuable practical exposure to various regional anesthesia techniques, greatly benefiting postgraduate trainees and faculty members. Following the workshop, Dr. Xavier delivered an insightful lecture on "Acute Pain Management in Low-Income Countries and Enhanced Recovery After Surgery (ERAS)", emphasizing cost-effective, evidence-based strategies to improve perioperative care and enhance patient recovery outcomes. The event was organized and hosted by Dr. Dawood and Dr. Sabtain, under the dynamic supervision of Workshop Director Prof. Jodat Saleem. The session was graced by the worthy Principal, Ameer-ud-Din Medical College/PGMI/LGH, Prof. Farooq Afzal, and Medical Superintendent LGH, Prof. Faryad Husain. Prof. Farooq Afzal, while appreciating the efforts of the Department of Anesthesia, remarked that such academic and skill-based workshops significantly contribute to improving clinical practices and patient care. He commended the visiting faculty for sharing international perspectives and encouraged continued collaboration for academic and professional excellence.
