📰 CME Lecture on “Diabetes in Children” at Lahore General Hospital The Department of Pediatrics at Lahore General Hospital (LGH) organized a highly informative Continuing Medical Education (CME) lecture on the management of Diabetes in Children, attended by a large number of doctors, nurses, and healthcare staff. The keynote address was delivered by Prof. Summaiya Aftab, Head of Pediatrics, Children’s University Lahore, who presented a comprehensive lecture on the management of childhood diabetes, discussing the latest treatment protocols, follow-up strategies, and the importance of early diagnosis in preventing long-term complications. Following her lecture, a panel discussion was conducted, allowing participants to share experiences, challenges, and practical insights. Prof. Faryad Hussain highlighted that Pakistan has nearly 80,000 children living with diabetes, and around 5,000 children are currently receiving treatment at the Children’s Hospital, marking a significant achievement in pediatric diabetes care.
