Early Trauma Management Workshop | 29th September 2025 Surgical Unit-I, Lahore General Hospital, successfully organized a comprehensive Early Trauma Management Workshop aimed at equipping young doctors and postgraduate residents with essential knowledge and hands-on skills for the structured management of critically injured patients. The workshop began with the recitation of the Holy Quran, followed by academic sessions and live demonstrations. Prof. Dr. M. Farooq Afzal (Principal AMC/PGMI/LGH) highlighted the importance of a systematic primary survey in trauma care, while Dr. Saeed Mehmood (Associate Professor, Surgery) elaborated on secondary survey protocols through an interactive lecture and demonstration. Skill stations formed the core of the workshop, where participants received supervised training in critical trauma domains including: Airway Management & Primary Survey Breathing Assessment and Interventions Circulation & Shock Management Disability Evaluation (Neurological Assessment, GCS & Logroll Technique) Through small-group rotations, each participant gained practical exposure to life-saving interventions such as airway protection, breathing evaluation, circulation stabilization, and neurological assessment. The workshop concluded with a formal assessment and distribution of certificates, acknowledging the dedication and active participation of trainees. This academic activity not only strengthened clinical competence but also underscored the importance of teamwork, evidence-based trauma protocols, and patient safety. It stands as a significant contribution towards capacity building in trauma management under the training initiatives of Surgical Unit-I, Lahore General Hospital.
